Stable Yard

Previously a working dairy farm, Rockfield Farm’s stable yard was converted to a bloodstock stable yard in 2006. Rockfield has 11 stable boxes in our stable yard which typically houses our fillies.

American Barn

A unique addition to Rockfield Farm is our American Barn which was added over 20 years ago. The Barn structure has 12 stables and a wash bay facility. The American Barn houses our colts.

Paddocks

We have a large number of paddocks located at Rockfield Farm where our horses are let out to relax after galloping. This is of course weather dependent.

Lunge Ring

Lunge Ring

As part of our training facilities in Rockfield Farm, we are pleased to have a safe enclosed area for lunging, breaking and schooling horses in a controlled environment.

Our lunge ring is an open ring with an all-weather surface which is comprised of sand and fibre fill. Sitting adjacent to the lunge ring is a viewing platform.

Sand Ring

As part of our training facilities in Rockfield Farm, we are pleased to have a safe enclosed area for cantering, breaking and schooling horses.

The sand ring located at Rockfield Farm is an open ring with an all-weather surface which is sand based.

During training, our horses canter in the sand ring as a warm-up or cool-down pre or post working out on our 3-furlong gallop.
Sitting adjacent to the sand ring is a viewing platform.

Sand and Sawdust Gallop

A key feature of our training facility at Rockfield Farm is our 3-furlong (over 600 metre) sand and sawdust gallop.
This 3-furlong gallop with incline is an invaluable resource for long continuous work when training our young horses.
Our breeze up horses ride out on the gallop every morning which is a vital component of their training routine at Rockfield Farm.

Walker

At Rockfield Farm, we have an enclosed, manned, horse walker which can accommodate 6 horses per use. A manned walker is an important feature of our breeze up facility as it allows for controlled exercise. Benefits of the walker includes gentle exercise to warm up or cool down horses, to assist recovery of horses post illness or injury and to alleviate stiffness or injury during training.

Wash Bays

Located in our American Barn, we have a water wash bay which we use to wash our horses down after their exercise.
